Songwriter by day, poet by night

Lisanne Jacobs is a Dutch musician and writer whose life imploded within a month of graduating from the Utrecht Conservatory. Stages like Pinkpop were rapidly replaced by doctor’s offices, while dreams were swallowed up by a growing sense of despair. She has kept creating from bed throughout various stages of illness, collaborating with patient organisations and fellow disabled artists, composing for film as well as advocacy campaigns. She likes to explore themes of living loss, medical gaslighting, sense-making and the passage of time in her work. Her first single “Does the World Miss Me Back?” is set to be released in 2026 ☆
